Term Paper Prompt
 
Please write a 6-10 page paper (double spaced, Times New Roman 12pt. font) covering the following 3-part prompt.  Papers must incorporate at least one outside source in addition to your course text book.  This is a research paper.  Follow MLA guidelines for citation formalities.  Plagiarism will result in a 0 on the final paper, and a referral of academic misconduct to UCA administration.
 
Part 1. Describe Plato’s metaphysical dualism.  Discuss how Plato’s metaphysical dualism can be considered to be a master narrative in the history of western philosophical and religious traditions.
Part 2. Provide an exposition of Chinese naturalistic metaphysics in contrast to metaphysical dualism.
Part 3. Consider the differences in knowledge theory between the ratiocinative Hellenistic view and the intuition-based Daoist position.
