Table of Contents Abstract It is over 30 years since the policy of reform and opening up has been implemented by the Chinese government. During that time, many Family Enterprises were established one after another and most of these enterprises have been developing fast via seizing that valuable opportunities. However, there are many problems need to be analyzed on these Family Enterprises. For instance, what is the specific definition of Family Enterprise; how do these Family Enterprises be influenced by Chinese traditional culture; what are the challenges for these enterprises; then what should be done in order to maintain the Sustainable Development for these enterprises. In the essay, the author will talk about these questions above in detail in order that readers may get a panoramic view about these Family Enterprises. In addition, a case study will also be introduced in the Textile Industry in order that relevant viewpoints could be illustrated. As one of the most important traditional industries in China, the development of Textile Industry is regarded as the typical representative of the developing trend for many Family Enterprises in China. However, the life cycle of these enterprises is rather short because of many complicated systems such as the patriarchal system, the family property & inheritance system and so on. In short, the Family Enterprises in China should make all efforts to get rid of some out-of-date viewpoints mentioned in the essay so that the target of maintaining Sustainable Development could be fulfilled.
