It is difficult to me at the beginning of looking up related data because my specialty in university is not media or native speaker. However, when the music of MJ comes to me, I make up my mind to start the project about commemorating Michael Jackson.
Michael Jackson, regarded as the “King of Pop”, is one of the most popular artists in the world. He is a singer,a dancer, a actor and also a philanthropist. His success lies not only in creating a lot of popular musics famed all over the world but also in his magic dance such as his signature moonwalk and mechanical dance. Actually, MJ combines the black blues with the white rocks and forms his unique style of music. His music is filled with passion and so exciting that people are involved in his unique music, which is the highest level of music. Therefore, many think that his rhythm can drive the pulse of the world. In addition to the exciting and unique music, his stage performance also brings people endless shock. I believe that no one will keep calm when he saw MJ’s magic dancing. Only he, such a talent, can create the dance shocking the hearts of the people. No wander his dance was imitated by innumerable stars. Musical achievements are enough to make him go down in history and be remembered by people. But the most impressive is his generous love to the world as a philanthropist. According to the statistics, MJ is a artist with the biggest donation. He not only brings the art only existing in heaven but also make most contributions to the charity. Even after the death, his spirit still affects the world. I think we will never forget his music and dance, not yet his great love. We love him because he will live forever in our hearts.
Throughout this project I have learned the knowledge of CSS and HTML. I master the skills about insetting a picture, video and music into the webpage. 1. Some of William Henry Fox Talbot's original negatives are currently being developed into
positives for the first time by the Japanese photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto. Write a catalogue
essay for an imaginary publication about these images, interpreting Sugimoto's project.
2. Roland Barthes introduced a new concept into the history of photography with his notion of the
punctum. Illustrate this concept with the aid of some contemporary photographs, and show how
Barthesʼ concept informs your interpretation of these pictures.
3. Consider the relationship between photography, memory and mourning. Your answer can draw
on history, psycho-analysis and art theory.
4. It has often been claimed that photography influenced, transformed or ended painting. Is the
influence unidirectional? Evaluate the arguments for and against this position. [Evaluate at least
one 19th century source in your essay]
5. Edward Steichenʼs activity in photography encompassed the Photo-secession, aerial
photography, portraiture, fashion and curating. In New York he was a central figure at both Vogue
and the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). Assess his contribution—did his career transform the
history of photography in the twentieth century, or was it rather a symptom of it?
6. The business of stock photography dwarfs that of fine art photography. Discuss the influence of
stock photography on contemporary visual literacy, as well as ways in which artists have attempted
to incorporate or subvert it in their work.
7. Harold Edgerton was primarily a scientific photographer, but his work has been influential in
product photography throughout the 20th Century. Using Edgerton as a starting point, consider the
way in which scientific images have influenced other branches of photography or changed the way
in which we see the world.
8. What is the difference between analogue and digital photography? Is this difference superficial
or profound? Explain with use of examples.
